Bruce Schmidt has more than 35 years of legal and judicial experience in all areas of the law. For the past 19 years, Bruce has served as a Circuit Court Judge, presiding over Winnebago County Circuit Court, Branch 6. Prior to taking the bench, he served six and one half years as Circuit Court Commissioner and another six and one half years as Family Court Commissioner, for Winnebago County. He began his legal career in 1975 as Winnebago County Assistant Corporation Counsel.
Bruce has been a long time advocate of mediation as a dispute resolution option. He was a founding member, as well as past president, of the Winnebago County Conflict Resolution Center. Bruce also assists in teaching the Civil Mediation Course offered by the National Judicial College.
Bruce plans to focus his “of counsel” relationship with Menn Law in the areas of MEDIATION/ARBITRATION and DIVORCE MEDIATION.
